The cooperation between TMT and Ermenegildo Zegna started 20 years ago, 1987 when the first continuous wet brushing machine STC was sold to the factory in Trivero.
The sturdiness of the machine and the quality of the service has immediately persuaded Ermenegildo Zegna to think of TMT not only as a supplier, but a real technological partner, together with to engineer machine as well look at custom made realizations.
After the supply in the following eight years of some accessories, it started together the engineering of a new machine, for obtaining a special sizing over the wool yarn, in order to reach the highest flexibility typical of the wool processing; this project led us to the realization of the first model of WR 1000, the tangential sizing machine, it was the 1995.
In 1999 it was the right time for the supply of a kier decatizing machine , that has always been the most well known machine of TMT. The PF 2000 Millennium, Magnum size, still working at Ermenegildo Zegna premises, guaranteeing
that ultimate permanent finishing aspect that makes unique their production, collection after collection.
In 2004, the increment of fabrics demand made the WR 1000 no more sufficient for fulfilling the Ermenegildo Zegna production requirement; a new concept of the tangential sizing machine was contextually engineered, it was the first model of WR 1000 Queen, with a production capacity double in comparison of the pervious model, thanks to a new drying system, matching the infrared oven with a traditional couple of heating drums. The 2005 was the year for replacing the old wet brushing STC, with two new machines, one for white and one for dyed fabrics.
The 2005 was also the right time for the supply of a complete Dolphin Line, the new multi finish TMT machine, used both for wet and dry processing; the versatility of the machine, used from crabbing to calendaring, from KD preparation to chintz, made it possible a new reorganization of the finishing processes, obtaining an increment of production higher than the expected one.
The supply of a machine for the beam rewinding model WRS, led us to the year 2006.
